Miami-Dade Animal Shelter Dogs to Enjoy Cooler Kennels Thanks to Big Ass Fans DonationSource: Google Street View

The pups at Miami-Dade County Animal Services' Medley shelter are about to get some major relief from the sweltering heat. In a welcome gesture, Big Ass Fans has donated a batch of its industrial fans, aiming to cool the kennels by up to 30 degrees. Keeping animals comfortable, especially as summer temperatures soar, is a crucial part of managing a shelter.

The donation is part of the company's commitment to community engagement and support for animal welfare. Shelter Director Annette Jose explained that the new fans will significantly improve the lives of the shelter's canine occupants, which currently number around 135. "We are extremely grateful for this generosity," Jose said in a statement obtained by Miami-Dade County News. "The fans are going to make a huge difference in helping to keep our dogs cool." The fans couldn't have come at a better time, as the shelter often struggles to maintain a comfortable environment during the hot Florida months.

Miami-Dade Animal Services is known for its extensive work with local animal populations, managing the intake and care for up to 36,000 animals every year. Its mission extends beyond basic care, with adoptions, community engagement, and partnerships with rescue organizations leading the charge towards finding forever homes for abandoned or mistreated pets.

Installation of the fans is scheduled for May 29, between 1:30 and 3:00 p.m., at the shelter located at 7401 NW 74TH ST, Medley, FL 33166. The team from Big Ass Fans, a leading manufacturer of high-volume, low-speed (HVLS) fans for over two decades, will assist in equipping the facility with these much-needed cooling machines.

Big Ass Fans' contribution is a welcomed example of companies putting their resources to work for the community benefit.
