
Early Friday morning turned tragic when 29-year-old Darrius Bergeron was gunned down at the corner of Hart and Lewis Streets, according to police. Detectives from the Homicide Unit are now urging the public to step forward with any information regarding the fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 1:00 A.M.
Initial reports, gathered from a witness at the scene, indicate that Bergeron was seen approaching a white SUV just before shots rang out. The witness then described how not just one, but two SUVs quickly sped away toward Trimble Street, slipping into the cover of the city. Bergeron was left to die in the scene.
The Nashville Police Department has not released any further details about potential suspects or the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
