According to the Boston Police Department, she was last seen on the evening of May 17, 2024 around 206 Norwell Street in Dorchester. Described as a light-skinned Hispanic female, standing 5'06" and weighing roughly 150 pounds, with shoulder-length straight black hair and green or hazel eyes, the concern for her safety has escalated. She was reported to be wearing a gray sweater, blue jeans, and brown boots at the time of her disappearance.
Authorities have reason to believe she may be with Joshua Echevarria, her 16-year-old boyfriend, who is also missing. Jayla is a known frequenter of the Brighton, Dorchester, East Boston, and Revere neighborhoods. The duo's disappearance has sparked a widespread search, with the Boston Police urging anyone with knowledge to come forward quickly and help to safely return the teenagers. In an appeal for assistance, the police have encouraged the public to contact 911 or reach out directly to B-3 Detectives at 617-343-4712 with any information regarding their whereabouts.
