
Tamarac, Florida is preparing for its yearly Memorial Day ceremony at Veterans’ Memorial Park, scheduled for May 27th at 10:30 a.m. The event, as stated on the City of Tamarac website, will honor the courageous individuals who made ultimate sacrifices for the nation.
The solemn occasion is marked by a presentation of colors courtesy of Tamarac Fire Rescue and the heartfelt vocals of Chantal Deshaies who will render the national anthem during the ceremony, and residents will witness a moving wreath-laying event along with the soul-stirring notes of “Amazing Grace” played on bagpipes, an act designed to honor those military service members who laid down their livesm as reported by the City of Tamarac.
This year's keynote speaker is Vietnam vet Levoyd Williams, his military accolades include a Bronze Star, and beyond the war, he’s dedicated his life to public service, having been involved in mentoring with the Boys and Girls Club, advising Junior Achievement, and supporting church-based educational programs, as the city specifies in its advisory.
