Boynton Beach witnessed a startling chain reaction of flames on Friday night, as a fire that initially engulfed a single boat spread rapidly to multiple vessels docked at the Harbor Inlet Club. According to CBS12, the city confirmed that the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue was quick to respond to the crisis, managing to evacuate five individuals from the fiery boat before it could claim any injuries.
The incident, which began with a lone boat ablaze, soon escalated as the burning vessel drifted and came into contact with others, setting them alight as well. Despite the potentially explosive situation, firefighters were able to effectively contain and extinguish the fires. While it remains unreported exactly how many boats were damaged, the rapid response from multiple agencies seemed to have quickly and significantly minimized any potential harm.
Amid the scene of charred hulls and billowing smoke, no injuries were reported. WPTV News Channel 5 obtained video footage showing at least one vessel engulfed in flames, alongside the details that Boynton Beach Police Department, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Boat US, and Florida Fish & Wildlife all assisted in the rescue operations.
