The Broward Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for Jaliya Annette Wimbush, a 17-year-old girl reported missing from Oakland Park since Tuesday. According to Local 10, Wimbush was last seen at around 1 p.m. in the vicinity of the 5700 block of North Dixie Highway.
At about 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing approximately 160 pounds, the missing teenager has black hair, brown eyes, and a notable scar under her left eye, was wearing a gray hoodie and lavender/white pants along with lavender Crocs at the time of her disappearance, the search continues as family and authorities hope for her safe return officials express an urgent need for public assistance in locating her. Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson has also indicated that Wimbush may be suffering from a mental health condition, a detail provided by the individual who reported her missing.
As the community's concern grows, BSO detectives are intensifying their efforts to find Wimbush. According to both WSVN, Detective Leonard Charla is the lead on the case, urging anyone with any information regarding Wimbush's whereabouts to come forward.
