A family tragedy has struck the Chicago area with the arrest of 32-year-old Dean J. Faulk, charged with the brutal murder of his 90-year-old grandfather, Dean L. Faulk. An unsettling scene unfolded in southwest suburban Hickory Hills on Friday when the elder Faulk was found dead in their shared residence from multiple axe-inflicted wounds to his head and neck. CBS reports the Hickory Hills Police Department responded to a call in the 8700 block of 81st Court, a home previously beset by “domestic related incidents.”
The gravity of familial discord has seldom been more starkly displayed than in this grim tableau, where the younger Faulk, who has a history of anger-related issues, was seen entering and leaving the residence through captured footage on a Ring camera, according to Chicago Tribune.
Charged with first-degree murder on Saturday, Dean J. Faulk's first court appearance occurred on Sunday, with the case looking to cast a long shadow over the community.
