
Businesses in the 17th District of Albany Park have been hit by a series of commercial burglaries, with the Chicago Police Department now alerting local proprietors. According to the advisory, an unidentified individual is breaking into shops and taking U.S. currency. The police issued this warning following three incidents that occurred in the vicinity of N. Milwaukee and N. Pulaski on the early morning of June 9th.
The sequence of events began on the 3500 block of N. Milwaukee at 1:30 a.m., with another incident following quickly to occur on the 3600 block of N. Pulaski at 2:39 a.m. The final known break-in took place sometime between the night of June 8 and the morning of June 9 on the 3500 block of N. Pulaski. The perpetrator forced entry into the businesses, and selectively aimed to remove cash before fleeing, leaving behind few clues aside from the scenes of intrusion.
As of now, the identity of the offender remains unknown. The Chicago Police are seeking the public’s assistance in keeping watch for suspicious activities or individuals. They advise business owners to ensure that their surveillance systems are operational and to maintain vigilance against potential threats.
The police also encourage anyone who might witness suspicious behavior to not hesitate to call 911 immediately.
