The Town of Davie is gearing up to host its time-honored Independence Day celebration, Fun on the 4th, exclusively for Davie residents at Pine Island Park this coming July. The community-centric event, slated for July 4, promises a blend of live performances, family-friendly activities, and a dazzling display of pyrotechnics to mark the nation’s birthday. According to the Town of Davie official announcements, festivities are set to commence at 6 p.m., punctuated by a drone show shortly before the fireworks finale at 9 p.m.
Entrance gates will swing open to registered locals at 5 p.m., with organizers encouraging attendees to come equipped with lawn chairs and blankets for an evening designed to foster community spirit. A headlining performance by the Shane Duncan Band is expected to serenade event-goers from 6 to 9 p.m., in what has become an eagerly awaited musical feature of the annual celebration. To ensure a seamlessly enjoyable experience, last-minute entry has been curbed at 8:30 p.m., so as to not disrupt the inaugural drone show.
Emphasizing an orderly affair, pre-registration is essential and accessible via the town’s WebTrac system. For residents who are already users of the platform, securing admission is but a few clicks away with their existing credentials. New users are not left to fend for themselves either; they can obtain a username and password by calling the designated hotline at 954-327-3941. "One ticket will be issued per household/vehicle for entry," and all passes, making their way into inboxes ahead of the event, are strictly non-transferable — as outlined by the Town of Davie's statement. Mark the calendar: the last day to claim your spot under the vibrant July sky is July 1.
It's no secret that safety is at the forefront of the event's planning. To this end, personal fireworks and alcohol are expressly prohibited within the park's confines. Any worries or curiosities regarding the event can be addressed by reaching out to the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department, available at 954-797-1146. Davie’s residents are simply to look forward, to come together and commemorate a day that stands as a testament to the nation’s enduring ethos of liberty and community.
