According to FOX San Antonio, the incident occurred the afternoon of June 6 at the First Convenience Bank inside a Walmart on Anderson Boulevard in Fort Worth. The individual implicated in this case apparently involved a young child by having them in a shopping cart during the offense, before fleeing the scene with the child in arms.
Eye-witnesses expressed their dismay to local media over the involvement of the youth in the criminal activity. Forth Worth resident, Shirley Ingram, relayed to NBC DFW her stunned reaction, saying, "It just stunned me, I mean to think of that poor little baby, to be connected with something like that." Ingram further speculated about the suspect's intentions, remarking, "He probably thought if anyone was going to shoot, he would think of that little girl in his arms, so I think he was kind of using her as a shield."
