A high-speed incident involving a motorcycle and a red sedan near Brackenridge Park has left one man in critical condition and sparked a police inquiry into street racing. The San Antonio Police were called to Broadway at Funston Place at approximately 9:28 p.m. following reports of a severe motorcycle crash, as confirmed by KENS 5.
According to authorities, a 24-year-old man was racing with two other motorcyclists down Broadway when an incoming sedan took a turn left, resulting in a collision. The force sent the motorcyclist airborne for an estimated 30 yards. He was subsequently transported to BAMC, where he remains in critical condition. A family member of an injured who arrived later to collect personal effects was also detained by police officers at the scene.
The aftermath of the crash led to the temporary detention of the two motorcyclists who had been accompanying the victim, on suspicion of racing.
