Authorities are actively conducting a manhunt following a shooting incident outside a Miramar business that left two people injured. The event occurred just before 11 a.m. yesterday, at an office park addressed at 10700 Enterprise Way, as reported by NBC Miami. Police and Fire Rescue teams promptly responded to the distress call indicating that two males had been shot, with one found on the ground.
Miramar Police have yet to publicly identify the shooter who is said to quickly have fled the scene after the shooting. The two victims received immediate medical attention and were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital's trauma center; their current conditions remain undisclosed. In a statement obtained by 7News, Miramar Police Department Det. Yessenia Diaz urged community members, "We really really would like the assistance of anyone in the community or in the area at that time that could have witnessed anything they can share with us and possibly find the person that committed this crime."
The shooting disturbed the day's routine at the local office park, with workers inside Coaster Furniture, where the shooting took place, instructed to remain indoors. According to accounts from employees, the situation began when a gunman, described as wearing an orange shirt and a black mask, opened fire in the vicinity of a food truck that regularly visited the business around 10:45 a.m. "I was in shock for a minute, you know, it happened right there at the warehouse, in the yard," Juan Morales, an eyewitness and employee at Coaster Furniture, as told by NBC Miami.
The Miramar Park of Commerce was temporarily shut down as officers with police dogs and firearms combed the area for the assailant. Tension gripped the workers as they processed the violent disruption; some, like Jonn VonDickerson, found the experience to be deeply unsettling. "Devastated. Never really dealt with anything like that at work before," VonDickerson revealed to NBC Miami. As the perpetrator still remains at large, authorities continue to gather evidence and solicit tips, offering up to a $5,000 reward through Broward County Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest.
Community members with any details about the incident are encouraged to contribute their accounts by contacting Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. As the investigation unfolds, the community is reminded to stay alert and report any information that may aid in the apprehension of the individual responsible for this crime.
