Miami-Dade police are scrambling to unravel a deadly night in West Miami where a woman was found shot to death inside a vehicle. The discovery was made late Saturday night after authorities responded to a ShotSpotter alert, according to Local 10.
The incident occurred near Northwest 65th Street and 20th Avenue, just before 11:10 p.m. Detective Angel Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department, stated that after the officers located the woman in the car, they declared dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel who also arrived.
Currently, no suspects have been identified, as homicide detectives continue to probe the case. In the wake of the tragedy, officials have urged anyone with information about the incident or other related cases to step forward and contact Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
On the same somber night, a second shooting investigation is underway by MDPD in West Little River. In an unrelated event having occurred earlier Saturday afternoon, at a gas station, a man was also found deceased with bullet wounds inside a car. The two car-bound corpses, not presently linked, pose a grim puzzle for authorities. As reported by CBS News Miami, whether these shootings are connected remains unconfirmed.
