In a display of quick and effective police work, Naperville Police successfully collared five individuals tied to a burglary at a local beauty store. The incident, which unfolded this past Tuesday evening, saw officers responding to a call at an Ulta Beauty on Aurora Ave. after reports of a theft in progress, as detailed in a press release from the City of Naperville's official website.
Officers present at the scene swiftly collected descriptions of the suspects and their getaway vehicle, sharing the information with their counterparts across the city. Spotted heading east on Ogden Avenue, the suspect's vehicle found itself swarmed by patrol cars. The officers, having pulled the car over, unearthed evidence linking the five individuals inside to the crime at Ulta Beauty. The Naperville Police Department released a statement saying, "During the course of their investigation while on the traffic stop, officers allegedly located evidence of the crime and established probable cause to arrest all five vehicle occupants."
The five, all hailing from Chicago, are now facing Class 2 felony burglary charges. These charges came about after discussions with the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office. Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres commended the joint efforts of the force, highlighting the excellent work by the initial responding patrol officers in an expedient sharing of information that led to the timely arrests of the suspects.
