A Nashville man has been detained in connection to a fatal car crash that took place in June of 2021, which claimed the life of Zavier Dunlap. According to a report by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), 43-year-old William Demarcus Tribue was arrested yesterday by MNPD Warrants officers in Rutherford County.

Evidence from the investigation, carried out by MNPD Crash Investigator Christopher Valdez, showed that Tribue was allegedly driving the Dodge Charger at a high speed on Trinity Lane when it veered off the road and overturned. Despite his initial denial, the probing continued to firmly point that he indeed had been behind the wheel at the time of the misfortune.

The crash resulted in Dunlap's immediate death at the scene, while Tribue was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. Another passenger who was in the backseat of the Charger also received transport to the hospital, having suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Currently, Tribude faces charges of vehicular homicide by intoxication and vehicular assault. He's been incarcerated in lieu of a $101,000 bond. As the legal proceedings continue to unfold, further updates on the case are expected to provide clarity and eventual closure to this tragic 2021 incident.
