An 18-wheeler truck toppled over on PGA Boulevard at the eastbound ramp of I-95 yesterday morning, leading to road closures and traffic advisories in Palm Beach Gardens. As per CBS12, the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department (PBGPD) reported that the large vehicle was obstructing two of the eastbound lanes near a Shell Gas Station, though the westbound lane was not affected by the mishap.
Traffic diversions were quickly put into place to manage the flow and as of now, reports confirm no injuries resulting from the incident. The PBGPD has yet to release the cause of the truck to so suddenly lose its bearing and to thus block the thoroughfare. Motorists have been advised to seek alternative routes with local authorities recommending Military Trail south to Burns Road, and then Prosperity Farms Road to rejoin eastbound PGA Boulevard, as suggested by WPBF.
Efforts to clear the roadway were underway, with tow trucks dispatched to the location. Despite the size of the vehicle and the ensuing disruption, the expert coordination among emergency services reportedly lessened the potential for a prolonged blockage. "Tow trucks are reportedly on their way to clear the lanes," the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department noted, signaling a concerted response to swiftly reopen the lanes for the public, as reported by CBS12.
The police have recommended avoiding the area until the 18-wheeler can be securely removed and normal traffic flow can be restored. The police stressed that the faster the public heeds their advice to steer clear, the quicker they can manage to clear up the aftermath of the upheaval.
