A tragic multi-vehicle collision in the Pembroke Pines area has left one person dead and three others injured. The accident occurred on the intersection of U.S. 27 and Pines Boulevard, according to an account by Local 10. Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene following the crash.
The unfortunate event involving five vehicles was reported on Thursday afternoon. A helicopter belonging to Sky 10 captured aerial footage of the wreckage and the subsequent response by emergency crews. As per the authorities' confirmation, the accident claimed life of an individual, with three others taken to a nearby hospital. Additionally, a fifth person caught up in the crash refused transportation to the hospital for treatment, as mentioned by WSVN.
As the investigation rolled onwards, travel through the area was disrupted. Pembroke Pines Police, in a statement captured by a traffic alert, advised the public that northbound U.S. 27 at Pines Boulevard would remain closed due to the ongoing investigation.
The closure of northbound lanes on U.S. 27, as well as the westbound lanes of Pembroke Pines Boulevard, was necessary to secure the crash site and allow for a thorough investigation. Motorists were urged to seek alternative routes to circumvent the affected area. While the southbound lanes of US-27 stayed open, drivers were expected to experience delays in the vicinity of the crash. The identity of the victims and the cause of the accident have not been released by the authorities at the time of writing.
