
The SF Police Department recently apprehended a duo linked to an armed robbery on Valencia Street. According to the San Francisco Police Department, quick response after a shoplifting incident escalated to an armed confrontation led to the subsequent arrest of two suspects, identified as 19-year-old Favian Gonzales Vancorner and Ana Reyes, of the same age.
It was last Friday evening when officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Valencia Street, following reports of an armed robbery that had taken place roughly at 9:30 p.m. The store employee, when trying to hinder a male from exiting with unpaid merchandise, was met with the threat of a pistol. The suspect fled by car with an accomplice, setting off an immediate investigation by the SFPD Strategic Investigations Unit. Through surveillance imagery, authorities were able to pinpoint Gonzales Vancorner.
Subsequently, on Sunday, at approximately 4:44 p.m., officers detained Gonzales Vancorner and Reyes near the 1400 block of Flounder Court. A loaded firearm was discovered and seized during the detention. Both suspects were booked into San Francisco County Jail. Gonzales Vancorner facing charges related to the armed robbery, other firearms offenses, and conspiracy, while Reyes was held on multiple firearms charges and conspiracy.
An additional search warrant executed at Gonzales Vancorner’s residence turned up an assortment of firearms, including an assault rifle and a sawed-off shotgun, along with ammunition and other items related to firearm activities. Despite the arrests, police emphasize that the investigation is still active and ongoing.
