
A hit-and-run in Walnut Creek has left two pedestrians in critical condition and prompted the arrest of a suspect. Early morning tranquility was shattered on June 2 when a vehicle struck two individuals near the intersection of Locust St. and Cole Ave. The victims, whose identities have not been disclosed due to ongoing investigations, were swiftly transported to a local hospital to receive care for their major injuries, reported the Walnut Creek Police Department.
Law enforcement officials responded to the distress call at approximately 5:15 am, swiftly locating the SUV involved in the accident. The SUV driver did not remain at the scene but was later apprehended by police. Details regarding the driver's identity have not yet been released to the public, with authorities withholding their name until further notice. The usual Sunday Farmer’s Market, a staple event on Locust St., has been canceled as the police continue investigating the circumstances of the dire incident.
