Early Tuesday morning, a violent dispute between a woman's current and former partner escalated to a stabbing in San Antonio's northeast side. KENS 5 reported that the altercation occurred on Newport Drive near Walzem Road, just before 2:30 a.m.
According to authorities, the ex-boyfriend arrived at the residence after being informed that his former girlfriend had been assaulted by her new boyfriend. The situation, which began as an argument, soon turned physical and led to the former boyfriend wielding a knife and stabbing the other man in the torso. In the chaos, the victim was rushed to BAMC and remains in critical condition, police have not released the identities of those involved yet.
The San Antonio Police swiftly responded to the incident and detained the ex-boyfriend. News 4 San Antonio noted that his detention was for questioning, his charges, if any, have yet to be disclosed by law enforcement officials.
