The San Francisco Police Department is urgently calling upon the community for assistance in the search for LeMichael Humphrey, an 11-year-old boy reported missing as of Tuesday, June 4. LeMichael was last spotted around 2:55 p.m. on the 400 block of Stanyan Street, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
The department has described LeMichael as an African American male, standing 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing 105 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. On the day he disappeared, he was wearing a black and gray hoodie, a green shirt, gray slacks, and white Nike shoes. Notably, LeMichael is not just any missing child, he is identified as at-risk because he is living with both autism and schizophrenia, and he has recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Prior incidents suggest that LeMichael is known to frequently run away, often using MUNI and BART public transport systems to travel to cities around San Francisco. The SFPD has made available a photograph of LeMichael to aid the public in identifying him.
Authorities are urging anyone who spots him or has any relevant information to act immediately and call 911 with his location and physical description. For those who might have tips on his whereabouts, but wish to remain anonymous, they're encouraged to contact the SFPD Tip Line at 1-415-575-4444 or to Text a Tip to TIP411, starting the message with SFPD. The search for LeMichael is time-sensitive, and the community's alertness can make a crucial difference.
