Early this morning, Hollywood Beach became the scene of an investigation as a body was discovered on the shoreline. WSVN reports the body is of an elderly white man, presumed to be in his 50s or 60s, found face down near South Ocean Drive and Magnolia Terrace. Hollywood Fire Rescue and Hollywood Police responded to what was initially thought to be a possible drowning incident.
Upon arrival, the authorities found personal items, including flip-flops and a bag, scattered around the man's body. Officials have placed a white body bag on the deceased and cordoned off the area as is standard with such discoveries. Although an air of mystery hangs over Hollywood Beach, police suspect there’s no foul play involved in the man's death. The southern tip of the beach was advised to be avoided by visitors as investigations continue.
In a quick follow-up, NBC Miami shared that the investigation by Hollywood police was still in its preliminary stages and no further details were immediately available. The nature of the incident, how long the body had been at the location before being discovered and the identity of the deceased remain matters for the ongoing police investigation.
