According to a statement by the United States Coast Guard, these drugs were seized during three incidents in international waters. The Coast Guard Cutter Forward was the vessel responsible for the offload this Monday. The success was attributed to coordination between the Coast Guard, foreign allies, and other U.S. agencies.
This operation witnessed the cooperation of several organizations that came together to thoroughly combat drug trafficking. It saw the Royal Netherlands Navy ship HNLMS Groningen and the USS St. Louis join forces with the U.S. Coast Guard Tactical Law Enforcement Team Pacific, among other interagency groups, all working to sufficiently reduce the flow of illicit drugs. “This was another vital success of our combined drug interdiction efforts,” Lt. Cmdr. Juan Ramirez, a Coast Guard District Seven staff attorney, told WSVN. He emphasized the importance of partnership in these operations, noting that these coordinated actions are instrumental in saving lives by reducing the availability of harmful substances.
