The incident, as reported, unfolded in the 400 block of South Lyons Road on June 26, seconds from the serene trails of Fern Forest Nature Center.
Investigators are on the lookout for a molten lava red Honda Civic SI, believed to be a model from between 2018 and 2021. The car in question is expected to exhibit some distinctive damages: a missing right side mirror, and likely evidence of a collision with a guardrail, including a marred front windshield. As Local 10 News specifies, the department has disclosed stock images of a similar vehicle, but not of the actual car involved.
Despite efforts to locate the vehicle and whoever was at its helm during the tragedy, the police have not shared details pertaining to the victim.
