A construction worker in Jupiter required an unconventional rescue operation late yesterday night after suffering a fall on the US 1 Bridge. The individual, who has not been specified by name, was reported to have been working on the bridge when they fell onto concrete below, according to details released by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
The incident took place around 11 p.m. and prompted a swift response from emergency crews. In a maneuver that underscores the dangers of construction work, crews at the site utilized a construction crane to extricate the worker from the hazardous area. WPTV News Channel 5 reported that the worker was lifted out and then transferred to a waiting stretcher on site.
Upon being stabilized, the injured worker was swiftly airlifted to a local Palm Beach County hospital for further medical attention. The specialized medical helicopter, famed as TraumaHawk, made the journey from the nearby Jupiter Lighthouse Park to the trauma center in roughly eight minutes. The condition of the patient remains undisclosed as of the time of reporting. WPBF indicates that around 10 units from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue were involved in the rescue operation.
