Coral Springs has some good news for residents invested in the local education system as the city's public schools are making the grade. In an update released by the city, 18 out of 19 traditional public schools in Coral Springs have either maintained or improved their letter grades for the 2023-2024 school year. This performance measure, issued by the Department of Education, reflects the schools' academic standards and serves as an indicator for educational quality.
With a commendable display of academic progress, the Mayor of Coral Springs, Scott Brook, offered praise for the city's schools, saying, "I am so proud of the academic improvements of students and applaud educators for their commitment to providing quality education for youth." Ensuring that "In Coral Springs, we remain committed to seeing quality educational opportunities for students and look forward to seeing our city schools continue to improve!" according to a recent announcement on the Coral Springs website.
The Coral Springs Charter School, governed by the City Commission of Coral Springs, also continued to hold an 'A' rating. Not to be outdone by its fellow institutions, several traditional public schools in Coral Springs were celebrated for earning an 'A' grade, such as Coral Park Elementary and Sawgrass Springs Middle School. Specific recognition was given to Forest Hills Elementary School and Ramblewood Middle School, among others, for improving their letter grades.
However, not every school experienced the upward trend, with three schools—James S. Hunt Elementary School, Ramblewood Elementary School, and Coral Springs Elementary School—receiving a 'C' grade. Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which serves a portion of Coral Springs students, consistently upheld its 'A' rating. Coral Springs takes into account a broad spectrum of educational aspects beyond grades and provides a more comprehensive overview of its schools, including extracurricular activities and resource officers. They offer this information on their website for those interested.
