
A fatal scooter crash occurred earlier today in Miami, leading to significant traffic disruptions along Flagler Street. Miami Police were called to the scene around 5 a.m. after a scooter rider was struck by a car. The collision took place near the intersection of 36th Court and Flagl Street.
Following the incident, law enforcement quickly to shut down Flagler Street in both directions between Northwest 35th Avenue and Northwest 37th Avenue, creating a halt to the early morning traffic flow as they commenced with the accident investigation. WSVN reported that aerial footage revealed the presence of several police cars at the site, where medical waste and a damaged white car were visible alongside the downed scooter.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Trauma Center in critical condition by Coral Gables Fire Rescue, according to authorities. Tragically, the individual succumbed to their injuries upon arrival at the hospital. The Miami Police Department is currently investigating the crash's cause, seeking to understand the events that led to this tragic outcome.
In response to the scene's urgency, the Miami Police Department issued a traffic alert, advising motorists to avoid the area along NW 35 - 37 Ave on Flagler St and to seek alternative routes. This notice was disseminated via social media in hopes of preventing further traffic congestion as the investigative work was underway.
