Witnesses observed two vehicles rapidly leaving the area where the shooting occurred, but only one has been traced to the hospital visit, with the whereabouts of the other vehicle, still unknown. Early Friday morning, multiple shots were fired on the near east side of Indianapolis, resulting in property damage to establishments, including Sam's Square Pie and Gomez BBQ. The incident left shards of glass and boarded windows as tangible echoes of chaos, with owners reflecting on what could have been grave consequences had anyone been present during the shooting.
Jeffrey Miner, owner of Sam's Square Pie, told FOX59, "I walked in and glass was all over my building." Despite feeling fortunate that no physical harm befell anyone, the disruption pained Miner, who admitted that occasional crime happened near his business, but maintained, "We need a better police presence in this alley way here." His demand for security echoes a broader community call for safety and accountability amid repeated incidents. Meanwhile, the Indiana police urge anyone with information on the shootings to step forward to assist in their investigations.
