
A tragedy unfolded in Bartholomew County on yesterday afternoon when a Good Samaritan, who had stopped to help a stranded driver along U.S. 31, was struck and killed by a vehicle. According to WRTV, the incident occurred at the intersection of N US31 and W 800 N, prompting a response from deputies at approximately 12:11 p.m.
Upon arriving at the site of the collision investigators found the man unresponsive and he was pronounced deceased at the scene, Local News Digital reported that the accident happened after the noon hour and the victim had been attempting to aid another motorist whose vehicle had broken down, meanwhile, the Bartholomew County Accident Reconstruction team is now involved in the ongoing investigation to understand the specifics of the fatal event.
