
In the early hours of yesterday, Hayward Police Department officers swiftly acted on a report of a stolen vehicle at an apartment complex. As they arrived on the scene, they discovered the vehicle attempting to exit the premises. In a strategic move, the officers managed to block the car from leaving, resulting in all three occupants abandoning the vehicle and attempting to flee by foot, as per the Hayward Police Department.
The ensuing pursuit led to the successful apprehension of two of the three individuals who had tried to disappear into the neighborhood. One of the apprehended suspects was found to be carrying a loaded and unregistered handgun. The vehicle, once inspected, was revealed to not only be stolen but also to contain a sizeable quantity of methamphetamine and an array of burglary tools. These findings led to the arrest of the suspects on various counts, including the possession of a stolen vehicle, narcotics, and gun violations, and the possession of burglary tools.
Honing the community's vital role in crime prevention, Hayward Police used this incident to remind the public of the importance of reporting suspicious activity.
