A man was fatally shot outside a business on Charlotte Pike in Nashville, as confirmed by Metro Nashville Police. The incident occurred yesterday evening, unfolding in the parking lot of La Hispana Bakery, located at 6208 Charlotte Pike. According to WSMV, police responded to a shooting report at approximately 6:41 p.m. where the victim, a Hispanic male believed to be in his 30s, was targeted by multiple gunmen who emerged from a dark-colored vehicle and opened fire.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim had been shot multiple times after exiting his truck. In the chaos, he attempted to escape the barrage of bullets by fleeing across the thoroughfare before he tragically collapsed. The victim was subsequently transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities estimate that between 20 to 30 shots were fired during the attack. Meanwhile, the victim's wife was inside the bakery as the violence unfolded outside, as per WSMV.
The lethal confrontation caused authorities to close down a portion of Charlotte Pike for investigation. According to WKRN, Policemen on the scene said that the victim was walking toward his vehicle when the dark sedan arrived, and its passengers—multiple people—began their deadly assault. As the victim tried to elude the shooters, approximately 40-50 shell casings were subsequently found scattered in the street by investigators.
Additional details provided by FOX 17 indicate that the man while attempting to evade the onslaught, was shot by weapons of multiple calibers. Estimates suggest that the shootout could have included up to 50 rounds. The incident is believed to be isolated, and police assured that there is no broader danger posed to the public. At this time, the suspects remain at large, and the investigation into the shooting and a possible motive continues.
