
A man has died after a shooting that occurred in the Old Town Neighborhood of Portland. The Portland Police Bureau reported that on Yesterday, at 11:48 p.m., Entertainment Detail officers heard gunshots near the intersection of Northwest 3rd Avenue and Northwest Everett Street. In a press release, the officers were said to have discovered an injured adult male and provided trauma first aid until EMS arrived.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, where despite the hospital staff's efforts over the course of two hours, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The suspect or suspects fled the scene before police could apprehend them, and as of now, no descriptions have been made available to the public.
The Homicide Unit of the Portland Police is actively investigating the incident and has closed off certain streets during the inquiry. According to the information provided by the Portland Police Bureau's official statement, Northwest 3rd Avenue is shut between Northwest Flanders Street and Northwest Davis Street, and Northwest Everett Street is closed off from Northwest 2nd Avenue to Northwest 4th Avenue.
