In Phoenix, a situation that began as a dispute between family members crescendoed into violence late Sunday night, resulting in one man being whisked to the hospital with gunshot wounds. As detailed by 12 News, the incident was a direct progeny of a domestic dispute. The situation escalated when police found the man, identified as Mario Casteneda, gripping a firearm outside of an apartment building. Following police orders, Casteneda reportedly relinquished the gun and was detained at the scene.
Police then entered the apartment at approximately 10:15 p.m. and discovered another man suffering from gunshot wounds. After a prompt response, emergency responders ferried the victim to a nearby hospital where "he remains in stable condition," says Phoenix Police Department, as per 12 News. The violence-tainted soils of familial strife were plowed by an argument turned physical, leading up to the shooting. The assailant, Casteneda, now faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and weapons violations.
