The Miami Beach Hispanic Affairs Committee has opened up nominations for the 2024 Hispanic Heritage Month Awards, as reported by the City of Miami Beach's official website. Giving a nod to educators, public safety personnel, social service providers, and artists among others, the awards aim to highlight various individuals and businesses who have been pivotal in uplifting the Hispanic presence in Miami Beach.
Nominations for the awards are being accepted until the deadline of 5 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 2 and will be selected in categories ranging from individual contributions to business accomplishments. Specifically, the call for nominations seeks to identify those in the Hispanic community who are under 18 and involved in community service, educators, and business owners or employees with at least 51% Hispanic ownership among other criteria.
The nomination process is straightforward, requiring the nominee’s full name, address, phone number, and a detailed explanation of their impact on the community. The Selected individuals and businesses will be celebrated at an awards ceremony taking place in September, during the National Hispanic Heritage Month which runs from September 15 to October 15.
To submit a nomination, interested parties can download forms from the city's website and send completed versions either via email to Leonor Hernandez at [email protected], or through traditional mail to Hernandez at the city offices.
