The Miami Springs Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the community in identifying a 'porch pirate' who was recently captured on surveillance footage, taking packages from a local residence. This incident adds to the growing number of package thefts that have plagued neighborhoods across the nation, particularly with the reliance on home deliveries.
Making multiple trips to and from the front door, the thief, as described by NBC Miami, removed at least four packages from the porch yesterday around 12:20 p.m. She is seen on the video, which was shared by the Miami Springs Police on their Instagram page, handing off the stolen goods to an accomplice waiting in a white car before fleeing the scene.
Detailed in the video posted on the police department's Instagram account, is the unidentified woman making three trips to the door, each time returning to a white getaway car which hands the stolen parcels to the driver. The precise location within Miami Springs has been withheld. The contents of the packages, and the time they sat unattended before being taken, remain unknown.
