The community in Montgomery County is grieving following the death of Deputy Joshua Beck, who passed away weeks after being involved in a motorcycle crash. According to the WSMV, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) announced that Deputy Beck, a 35-year-old Marine Corps veteran, succumbed to injuries he sustained earlier this month while off duty. The sheriff's office said, "Our hearts and condolences go out to his family. He will be sorely missed by the many friends and colleagues he has worked with."
The fatal incident occurred on July 14 when Beck's 2024 BMW S1000 motorcycle was said to have been following another vehicle too closely on Dover Road. A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol provided by WKRN detailed that Beck's motorcycle struck the right rear of a 2006 Chevy, causing him to lose control and crash off the road, coming to rest in the woods. The deputy was previously assigned to the warrants division of MCSO and was a patrol deputy.
In expression of solidarity and sorrow, the Clarksville Police Department extended their condolences to Deputy Beck's family and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. "The Clarksville Police Department mourns for the family of Deputy Beck, and the entire Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, during this time of loss. You are in our prayers.," they posted.
