Last night, the quiet of Bay Terraces was disrupted by the roar of a collision between a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Volkswagen Golf. At approximately 10:46 p.m., Officer J. Perales from the San Diego Police Department reported that a 40-year-old man was riding his 2010 Harley westbound on 6800 Doriana Street when a 24-year-old man in a 2012 Volkswagen Golf initiated a U-turn into his path. The harrowing encounter resulted in the motorcyclist suffering a fractured femur, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The incident, logged under ID 09336, saw both parties remain on the scene until emergency services arrived. The SDPD Traffic Division took charge of the investigation, hinting that the serene neighborhood is not immune to the hazards that mar our city's roads. The injured motorcyclist was transferred to a local hospital, and while detailed updates on his condition are unavailable, the fracture points to a serious impact and a long recovery ahead.
In the aftermath of the collision, the SDPD has called upon the public for assistance. Witnesses or those with relevant information are urged to come forward and provide their accounts to the Traffic Division or to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
