A daylight robbery in Nashville's Centennial Park led to the arrest of a suspect now facing a felony aggravated robbery charge. The incident, occurring just shy of half past one yesterday afternoon, presented a terrifying moment for the victim who encountered the armed suspect while enjoying a day in one of the city's famed green spaces.
Police documents detailed the harrowing ordeal wherein the suspect, described with a slender build, reportedly accosted the victim. Offering a stark narrative to police, the victim recounted how a man appeared out of nowhere, presented a gun, and commanded with a chilling simplicity, "give me everything you’ve got." Not satisfied with the fear instilled by his weapon, the assailant proceeded to strike the victim in the head, bringing him to his knees and rifling through his pockets for cash before making an escape. This description was relayed by the arrest report, as seen WKRN.
The investigation moved swiftly as detectives followed clues to Parthenon Towers, where surveillance footage revealed the suspect entering the address at 301 28th Avenue North. Per the arrest report shared by WSMV, police identified the apartment the suspect was seen entering, and upon executing a search warrant, confirmed the identity of the man responsible for the Centennial Park daylight robbery.
Held at the Davidson County jail, the suspect, now known as Lewis, faces a steep bail set at $80,000.
