A Nashville woman was assaulted and nearly carjacked at a local auto shop on Thursday morning. The incident, which police say unfolded at Lucky's Custom Wheels & Tires located on Lafayette Street, left the female victim with minor injuries.

27-year-old Cedric Taylor is facing carjacking charges for his alleged role in the assault, FOX 17 reports. According to authorities, Taylor first demanded money after approaching the woman, who was punched in the face and arm while seated in her vehicle. Despite sustaining injuries, the victim managed to escape and seek refuge inside the business.

As per WKRN News 2, the quick-thinking business owner sprinted to the woman's car and, upon receiving her permission, shattered the Kia Forte's driver's side window to remove Taylor, pushing him out through the opposite door. It was with the guidance of another individual described as a good Samaritan that Taylor was detained on the scene until the arrival of the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

The MNPD credited "quick action" for the apprehension of the suspect involved in the altercation. After being treated at a local hospital for the injuries she suffered while parked to have brake work done on her car, the woman was released, as relayed by the MNPD.
