
A tragic incident occurred yesterday when a 4-year-old boy reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at a family home in North Providence, Rhode Island. According to WJAR, authorities responded to a call at Cassisi Court around 3:15 p.m. after the child was discovered underwater. Despite life-saving efforts, the boy was pronounced dead a short time after being transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital.
Witnesses described a scene of utter desperation as the events unfolded. "I saw them run frantically to the back yard, and I was looking out my window when they carried him up," a resident, told WJAR. North Providence police's press release detailed officers observing North Providence Fire Department personnel performing CPR on the unresponsive child.
