Tragedy struck at the M. James Gleason Memorial Boat Ramp on July 13, with a shooting that left two people dead. The victims have now been identified: 18-year-old Jmeire Asher from Portland and 38-year-old Deangelo Augustus hailing from Salem. In the wake of this horrific event, their families have been notified and are currently grieving in private, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Further investigations revealed that both Asher and Augustus succumbed to gunshot wounds in what the Medical Examiner ruled as a homicide. As this case unravels, the authorities are contacting the public for assistance.
