As the three-year mark of Luis Alberto Arroyo's unsolved murder passes, San Diego County Crime Stoppers, alongside the San Diego Police Department's Homicide Unit, are reminding the public that they are still actively seeking information. On the early morning of July 26, 2021, gunshots were reported in the Emerald Hills neighborhood, leading to the discovery of 38-year-old Arroyo with fatal gunshot wounds in the parking lot of Emerald Hills Park. Despite prompt first aid and transport to a local hospital by the San Diego Fire Rescue, Arroyo succumbed to his injuries.
According to the San Diego County Crime Stoppers, investigators have continued to work on the case, but after three years, they have yet to identify any suspects. To encourage fresh leads, Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that could lead to an arrest in this case. In a statement from the San Diego Police, witnesses or anyone with knowledge about the shooting are encouraged to step forward in an attempt to provide justice for Arroyo and his loved ones. Information can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at www.sdcrimestoppers.org or through their tip line at (888) 580-8477.
San Diego Police Department's Homicide Unit is available at (619) 531-2293 for those preferring to contact the authorities regarding the case directly. On the anniversary of this tragic event, the local community and Arroyo's family remain hopeful that someone will come forward with critical information to break the case wide open. The lack of closure after three years only adds to the urgency of the appeal for public assistance.
