A recent incident in Colma caught the local community's attention after police responded to a shoplifting event at a Junipero Serra Boulevard business. The theft, which saw a San Francisco woman pilfer almost $1,000 worth of goods, was reported in an episode of 'Misdemeanor Monday'.
Last Friday at around 3:34 pm, Colma Police officers rushed to the 5000 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard, where the theft took place. Upon arrival, they detained a suspect who matched the thief's description, a woman reported to have stolen a significant amount of merchandise before attempting her escape on foot, according to the Colma Police Department's social media post.
The female suspect, later identified as Bailey Williamson, a 27-year-old resident of San Francisco, was pointed out by the business’ loss prevention officer as the individual responsible for the theft. She was subsequently arrested after it was discovered she had stolen items totaling approximately $947.36.
Williamson was arrested for petty theft and, after receiving a citation, was released on her promise to appear in court.
