Arrested in the 1500 block of S. Fairfield Ave. on June 29, Vega was identified by law enforcement as having participated in the fatal shooting. The event took place on June 9, 2024, at around 8:32 p.m. in the 3900 block of W. 31st St. While walking down the street, the 21-year-old victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was reportedly shot.
The Chicago Police Department has been circumspect with details, stating that no additional information will be made available at the current time.
