A violent encounter in a Tigard parking lot has resulted in a man being hospitalized and another facing serious charges. On Tuesday, Timel Degraffe, 30, was apprehended after allegedly using a broken bottle to stab a man with whom he had no prior acquaintance. The incident, which occurred in the 10100 block of Southwest Washington Square Road, escalated after an offensive remark was purportedly made by Degraffe to the victim's partner, prompting the attack.

Following the episode, employees at a nearby pet hospital sprang into action to staunch the victim's bleeding until emergency responders took over. After fleeing the scene, Degraffe was located on a TriMet bus departing from Tigard. Responding to tips, officers intercepted the vehicle and took Degraffe into custody without further incident, KATU reported.

Charges have since been brought against Degraffe, which include second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Moreover, according to the KPTV, he was cited on a pre-existing misdemeanor warrant. This compilation of legal woes ensures that Degraffe will face his reckoning within the justice system.

The victim, while injured, is expected to make a full recovery. His fortunes on that fateful afternoon were significantly improved, by workers from the Hannah Pet Hospital who applied first aid to his wounds. "He's doing OK. I have spoken with him and yes, he’s expected to make a full recovery," Tigard Detective Kaci Mace told KOIN, indicating the prognosis was positive.
