Two suspects are currently under medical care following an officer-involved shooting during a pursuit concerning a stolen vehicle in Clarksville, as reported by WSMV. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy, who was uninjured in the incident, was investigating the said vehicle at the B&L Market when the altercation that led to gunfire ensued. Subsequently, the driver of the suspect vehicle engaged in a chase down Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and, as per statements obtained by Clarksville Now, no crashes occurred despite the initial pursuit.
During the pursuit, the passenger, either jumped or was pushed out from the moving car, was shot, and then subsequently run over by the vehicle, as detailed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Arrested in the area of Dunbar Cave Road, the driver continued fleeing until a deputy halted the suspect vehicle near Hornberger Road only to discover that the driver had also sustained gunshot wounds, according to the accounts by WKRN.
The suspects’ conditions, while not specified, necessitated transportation to area hospitals. The nature and the circumstances under which the deputy discharged their firearm remain under active investigation by local authorities. “Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries is still yet to be determined," the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office stated in a report by WSMV.
