A woman was injured during a shooting at an Amazon fulfillment center in Matteson on Sunday night, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the location of 7001 Vollmer Road. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Matteson police found a 33-year-old woman with a graze wound to the head when they arrived on the scene.
She was swiftly transported to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, where she received treatment for her non-life-threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation by law enforcement suggests that this act of violence was likely in retaliation for an earlier altercation in the center's parking lot, an incident that went unreported. After the shooting, employees could be observed exiting the Amazon facility, but none offered comments regarding the events that transpired inside.
