A tragic accident in Clearfield claimed the life of a young boy over the weekend. According to ABC4, a 10-year-old was fatally struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on Saturday, August 24. The collision occurred at around 4:46 p.m. at the intersection of 1900 South and Chelemes Way, an area outlined by four-way stops and nestled within a residential neighborhood.
As reported by KUTV, the vehicle involved had reportedly just started to proceed into the intersection as the boy attempted to cross. Despite the immediate attendance of medical personnel and urgent transport to Holy Cross Hospital, the boy's condition deteriorated, and he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Clearfield Police Department has confirmed that the driver of the truck involved in the incident stayed at the scene and is currently cooperating with the ongoing investigation, as per KSLTV. As of Monday afternoon, no charges have been filed, nor citations issued against the driver.
