A 10-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run incident while riding his bike in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. The events unfolded on the evening of Saturday around 7:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of West 65th Street, as the child was crossing the street between two block parties, CBS News Chicago reported.
Struck by a black sedan that was reported fleeing the scene, Chicago police confirmed that after being hit, the boy fell from his bike. Even though the black sedan hit him, the driver decided not to stop and render aid to the boy. Sustaining a cut to the lip along with other minor cuts, he required medical attention, as per FOX 32 Chicago.
The young boy was subsequently transported to Holy Cross Hospital by fire crews where he was listed in good condition, according to CBS News Chicago. As of the recent updates, authorities had not made any arrests in connection with the hit-and-run.
