
A 5-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Chicago's West Side in the Austin neighborhood yesterday morning. According to CBS News Chicago, the boy was outside with a man when shots were fired around 10 a.m. near the 1200 block of North Laramie Avenue.
Chicago police say the child was struck in his left leg and was subsequently transported to Stroger Hospital, as detailed by CBS News Chicago. His condition was reported to be stable. Standing outside on the block when the shooting happened, no other individuals were reported injured according to police statements. As of Wednesday afternoon, the perpetrator remained at large with no arrests made.
